Ancient table, why isn't that way?

And is that I read that had a ancient table of iron and how it was made was unknow, so why can't that table be made that way first be sculped in wood, and the final work would be after covered with clay and after the whole think would be baked, clay and wood, the wood closed inside the clay after the clay be baked the wood inside would be ashes, the wood would be completely consumed by the fire, and after for a hole in the baked clay, that now is a mold, would be the clay mold filled with smelted iron and after the iron went cold and came solidy would break the clay, and why would not have a table made by iron?
