Is basically what we call genoise cake the type genoise for me genoise is what a french professor would classify what is done in my city, one with butter, we also do the kind chiffon with oil, and have the sponge cake that is considered a recipe very portuguese the name in portuguese for the common sponge cake is pão-de-ló, probably sponge cake and pão-de-ló even are the same recipe, probably is what the EUA think about the pão-de-ló is that people try to label but sometimes give the same name for different things.
