Giovana works four hours a day at a school. One day, she decided to use up all her hours by scanning the outstanding documents in her department. In the first hour, she scanned 1/5 of the total outstanding documents. In the second hour, Giovana scanned 1/3 of the remaining outstanding documents. If in the third and fourth hours she scanned 38 and 28 documents respectively, how many documents in total were scanned that day?

A) 86.

B) 98.

C) 108.

D) 120.

Let's see the problem and I will prove the answer is wrong, beaitng one question.

1st hour 1/5; 2nd hour 1/3x4/5 that is 4/15

3 and 4 hour 28 an 38 that is 66

1st hour plus 2nd hour gonna be what is done that is 1/5 + 4/15 that is 7/15 so what was left forthe 2nd and 3rd day was 8/15 if I want to know the total I gonna divide what left that is 66 for what is does represent and multiply for what represent the total, but we gonna have a problem is that : 123,75.

She can type 123 documents or 124 documents but never 123,75 documents this isn't proportionality, the answer is 120, lets see

1/5 of 120  is 24

1/3 of 4/5 of 120 is 32

the remaisn is 28 and 38 that sum 66

So 24 + 32 + 66 = 122

SEE!!! I used 120 and the result isn't 120 with the proposition of the question because is wrong or using 120 to the question would be 120 an not 122, is becuase mathematics only accpets one answer and if the answer is wrong the calculation would appear a diferent number.
